Project Location: Pharping, Nepal
Nekorpa’s Pharping Pilgrimage Guide and Sanitation Program project is supporting a community-wide sanitation awareness-building program to reduce trash along the principal pilgrimage route, working with the monasteries, temple priests, and local civic and school groups. View Project Details

 


Nyagar StupaThe Enlightenment Stupa of Lerab Lingpa

Project Location: Nyagar, Tibet
Nekorpa supported the construction of Leling Changchup Chörten Chokle Namgyal—the Enlightenment stupa of Lerab Lingpa, Victorious in All Directions—in Eastern Tibet. The reliquary stupa was built on the site where the 19th century Tibetan mystic Tertön Sogyal Lerab Lingpa spent his last years. View Project Details

 


TaksangWhere Pilgrims and Conservationists Meet

Project Location: Taksang, Bhutan
In early 2010, Nekorpa collaborated with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in compiling a case study of Taksang (Tiger’s Lair), Bhutan’s national icon and one of the most significant Buddhist pilgrimage sites in all of the Himalayas. View Project Details

 


Adams PeakSri Pada Pilgrimage Guide and Mountain Clean-up Program

Project Location: Sri Pada, Sri Lanka
Nekorpa’s Sri Pada Pilgrimage Guide and Mountain Clean-up Program focuses on the sacred mountain of Sri Pada, or Adam’s Peak. The project is utilizing these rich traditions to promote cooperation on activities for the protection of Sri Pada, to promote environmental and sanitation programs, to support interfaith dialogue, and to publish a pilgrimage guidebook in Sinhalese and English View Project Details

 


OtgontengerPilgrimage Guide to Otgontenger

Project Location: Otgontenger, Mongolia
This project site is located at the remote sacred Mount Otgontenger [Tibetan: Batahor] in Zavkhan Province, Mongolia. The project will support local monks to conduct spiritual empowering rituals at Mount Otgontenger, as well as provide solar electricity to the monasteries in the region. View Project Details

 


SankasaSankassa Pilgrimage Guide and Sanitation Awareness Program

Project Location: Sankassa, India
Nekorpa is collaborating with Deer Park Institute of Himachal Pradesh to publish a pilgrimage guide in Hindi and English to the Sankassa Stupa and surrounding area, initiate sanitation-awareness and refuse clean-up programs in the nearby schools, developing a tree planting program, and a program to install and provide technical training for solar panel and cookers.
